Mr. Stick’s mother, Miss Stick Iron, is one of the favorites on the ranch. She is a Drag Iron daughter. Dave has fed her so many strawberry and vanilla wafers that I think the color has run through to her son, Mr. Stick. When rolling out a bale of hay, he follows the bale and gets the first bite off the roll every 6 feet. He acts just like his mother. Is that nurture or nature? Probably both. This steer is a lot of fun. The roan coloration keeps getting better and better with age, and his horns are growing perfectly. This fella is a joy to have on the ranch. He is going to be someone’s favorite!
